Browsing to a Web site rendered with WebKit tended to make the difference obvious, with crisp graphics that loaded with lightning speed. A small square on the address bar changes from a yellow lightning bolt to a blue graph icon to indicate which rendering engine is in use. To our knowledge, this is a unique capability that worked very well. In fact, Maxthon offers a full complement of features and options, and everything we tried worked well. There's even a mute button built into the lower frame to quickly silence noisy sites. The Ad Hunter feature worked quite well, blocking ad pop-ups on the most annoying sites we visit without blocking content we wanted to see in any case, it's easy to toggle on and off via an icon on the bottom right. Then Elizabeth leaves to start life on her own.Ĭritical reception for the film has been mixed and the movie holds a rating of 52% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 21 reviews. The last Elizabeth clone gives her the journal, and tells Claire to put her research to better use. Recovered from her heart attack, Claire returns to the house from the hospital. They had a brief intimate relationship at this time, but later Claire discovered that Henry simply wished to relive his wedding night with each new cloned Elizabeth, prior to murdering them, which horrified Claire. The new (and final) Elizabeth reads the journal which tells how Henry and Claire initially met, and details their work together on the cloning experiments. Elizabeth is also fatally wounded by the new clone, but before she dies she tells the clone to read Claire’s journal. Confused and disoriented, the new clone shoots and kills Oliver. When Elizabeth tells Oliver this, he states that Henry blinded him out of jealousy when he was a child, not liking Oliver's growing friendship with one of the other child clones, and after he had confronted Henry about molesting one of them.Įlizabeth attacks Oliver and tries to escape, but suddenly a new (6th and final) “Elizabeth” clone appears, holding a rifle. The journal also reveals Claire’s suspicions that Oliver is actually a clone of Henry, and that when she confronted Henry with this revelation he did not deny it. From the journal, it is learned that Henry and Claire have awoken six clones in total, including the current “Elizabeth” who is actually the fifth. The initial attempts were abortive, but eventually they succeeded. Unable to bear her loss, Henry decided to create clones of her, and hired Claire (a biologist) to help perfect them. The journal reveals that the original Elizabeth was Henry's wife, but she died of a rare medical condition. ![]() Oliver imprisons Elizabeth and asks her to read Claire's journal to him he tells her that he will not release her until she does. When Henry returns, he quickly discovers her deceit and brutually murders Elizabeth. ![]() She runs out of the room in a panic, leaving the door open. But eventually her curiosity gets the better of her and she explores the forbidden room, where she discovers clones of herself. Initially her new clothing and jewellery, and the various luxuries provided by her new home are sufficient to entertain her. Henry shows Elizabeth around the house, telling her that she can enter any room except one, which is located in the basement.Īfter Henry leaves for work each day, Elizabeth is left to her own devices. Henry’s house is palatial and only two other people live there the housekeeper Claire, and Henry’s adult son Oliver (who is blind). The PUG has the ability to replenish the abilities of a unit. The Engineer has the ability to create a stationary turret once per combat, which can deal out a lot of damage, with the tradeoff of not being able to move. In a game where each army can only have six units, putting two support units on a team can be risky, but the PUG and the Engineer can make a powerful combination. Neither of these is a full combat unit, and both fulfill more support roles. Two units that can be unlocked by focusing on the general tab of the tech tree are Engineers and PUGs. This lets you fight multiple battles in quick succession without waiting for your armies to heal up out of combat. Even more importantly, if you haven’t used them on any units near the end of a battle, you can heal them up to full before taking the last shot to destroy your enemy. It’s useful for keeping your units alive in battle. It’s a free action, meaning that you can take another action afterwards. It can only be deployed once per battle, but here’s the catch. All it does is heal your units and apply a defensive buff to them for a few turns. This mod costs some resources to apply to units, some energy and some of a space ore called cosmite, but it is one of the most useful mods in the game, and ideally you should put it on every unit you can. What you want to focus on is the mod, Nanite Injectors. Nanite support does a few things, most of which you can ignore for now. But if we have a nice Poz that allied with the humans in the first mission, he feels he owes Carminia something for her help in resurrecting the queen. The Vanguard technology tree has a technology called Nanite Support that it is useful to take early on. I feel that rather than leaving up to a dice roll we could make it canon that Gorodin is lying. ![]() If it is a trick then he can be compelled by a Carminia controlled queen to serve Carminia, the issue here is whether Gorodin was telling the truth or not we never find out in the kirko campaign whether he was. Poz hates humans and he hates the Star Union, both CORE and Carminia are the Star Union he despises. If it is not a trick, Poz's kirko are not going to support Carminia. The issue here is not who the Ressurectionists work for but whether the resurrection of the queen 'compels' the kirko to serve Carminia, Gorodin essentially tells us that the queen ressurection is a trick to enslave the kirko Poz either agrees with this in which case destroying the DNA makes sense or does not in which case it makes absolutely no sense to destroy the data at all. I only know what you can know right on the load screen of that scenario one of the noted problems I find is that it does not give you any pointers as to whom you should be supporting. I have not finished the final scenario yet, I have only got access to it but am playing through the syndicate and assembly missions at the moment I have played the kirko campaign however. No neutral option as far as I can tell.īut can I pick the Dark side option (kill rather then ally that one human) in the 1st Kirko Mission and still do Carminia? Restoring the queen is Carminia, destroying the Data is CORE. My questions are regarding Kir'Ko, Amazons and their Carminia route:Īmazons: Do I need to go Xenoplague in the first mission? If so, will I need the Hero that is Xenoplague alive? What is the path (if any) to Carminia? The company periodically adds new tracks, and you’ll be prompted to update the device through Wi-Fi when it does.įinally, there’s a subtle built-in light that can gently illuminate your nightstand if you find yourself waking up to go to the bathroom. The alarm has a bunch of extra features, too, that make it more worth the money, including a selection of white noise tracks, meditations, and bedtime stories. (Don’t get me wrong at the highest setting, it’s still loud.) The Loftie alarm has a tremendous volume range, and because the alarm tones aren’t blaring beeps, even at the loudest alarm setting it isn’t a painful experience. There’s several options for both of these alarms, and you can choose them directly on the device or through a mobile app that’s connected through a Bluetooth speaker. It’s also a calming and soothing experience, with a repetitive note that’s designed to get your attention. Then, just shy of 10 minutes later, the “get-up tone” goes off. It starts with soft music to gently rouse you. The alarm wakes you up with two components. The clock stands out for its attention to detail, smooth and intuitive interface, great design, and, of course, the phenomenal experience of waking up with it. (We don’t keep products we test, and I didn’t want to even think about a morning without the device.) It wasn't more than a minute or two before my phone was in hand, and I was researching how to procure my own Loftie. The very first morning, I opened my eyes and thought to myself that this is what waking up should be. Plus, I couldn’t imagine spending more than $100 on an alarm clock-it seemed outlandish. I was expecting it would be too good to be true. I tested the Loftie last, as it was the most expensive option and has a bit of hype from fans online. Less fortunately, it didn’t wake me up the first morning I used it. For two days, it chimed at 8:40 PM-fortunately I was home, so I was able to turn it off. My only gripe was that I initially set the alarm to PM, unknowingly. A selection of volumes will be ample for most people, though it’s equipped with just one alarm tone, a fairly standard beeping that wasn’t as unpleasant as others we tested. ![]() While waking up with the Sharp wasn’t a particularly life-changing experience, it does its job-and then some. There are six tracks, ranging from various tones of white noise to rain noises and the sounds of the ocean. It was a unique feature that many other clocks we tried lacked entirely. There’s plenty of settings to use in the evening and throughout the night to help drown out noises that could otherwise disturb your slumber. The display can also be dimmed, making it sleep-friendly.Īn impressive array of white noise features also set the Sharp apart. If you plan to regularly change the alarm time or other settings, this pick could make your life a little easier. Though the dial may not be the most attractive design choice, it drastically improves the device’s functionality. It makes changing time and setting alarms a breeze. Rather than mashing buttons for several minutes, the clock relies on a dial atop the body. It’s intuitive from start to finish, from changing the time to setting the alarm. During testing, the Sharp DreamCaster was the first alarm clock that felt more substantive and, to be frank, easier to set up and navigate than any of the others. ![]() ![]() The first two singles they worked on with Bob, “Belly Full” and “Knotty Dread,” were credited to The I-Threes as much as The Wailers and Bob didn’t expect any of them to abandon their solo work. Plus, The I-Threes were not anonymous backing talents. Even if you had a massive hit in Jamaica, you were not guaranteed to earn a penny in royalties Marley’s tours, however, offered a steady, decent income – something almost unheard of in 70s reggae. Reggae remained a club phenomenon outside of Jamaica, but it was clear that Marley, with Island Records’ considerable promotional muscle and a rising reputation with the rock audience, was about to play huge shows worldwide. When it came to international success for a Jamaican artist, his was almost the only show in town in 1974. So all three singers had strong connections with Marley before joining The I-Threes, but joining the Marley enterprise conferred certain advantages. At the time she joined The I-Threes, Marcia was enjoying a reggae hit with “Sweet Bitter Love” and about to embark on a fruitful association with the producer Sonia Pottinger, which yielded “Dreamland.” In the kind of strange coincidence reggae throws up, Rita Marley’s “Come To Me” was released in the UK on the Coxsone label, credited to Marcia.Īn artistic partnership with Bob Andy, as Bob & Marcia, delivered global fame for Marcia in 1970 with an entrancing orchestrated version of “Young, Gifted And Black,” and, in another coincidence, their follow-up hit was an interpretation of “Pied Piper.” She also cut versions of “Band Of Gold” and “Put A Little Love In Your Heart,” which are fondly remembered by reggae fans. Both tunes still play in reggae dances today as if they are contemporary records. In the mid-60s she issued a handful of singles for Studio One, including the ballad “Funny,” but really found her feet in 1967 with a Bob Andy song, “Melody Life,” and hit again in Jamaica with “Feel Like Jumping” the following year. Marcia was a rather more forceful solo voice. Marcia Griffiths’ career path was similar, except a different Bob wrote songs for her, and she had enjoyed more global fame than Rita before joining The I-Threes. ![]() From the start, they gave Marley’s music a totally different tone, such as on “Talkin’ Blues,” from Natty Dread, the first album Bob made alongside The I-Threes. Their role was to sweeten and emphasize the message in the songs. So Bob recruited his wife, Rita, who had been singing with The Wailers for the best part of a decade, along with Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths, to form The I-Threes. Tosh and Wailer had quit the group, feeling that they were being sidelined while Bob was being groomed for rock stardom at their expense. Their inclusion came in the wake of the break-up of The Wailers – a vocal group comprising Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer. The I-Threes became an official part of Bob Marley’s organization in 1974. But few backing vocal groups had as strong a pedigree as Bob Marley’s trio of confirmation vocalists, The I-Threes. From the yé-yé girls in French pop to The Ladybirds eternally doing sessions in the UK – unseen but gaining credits on Top Of The Pops – to Ray Charles’ Raelettes and the terrifyingly talented female singers that made up part of Stevie Wonder’s Wonderlove band, they have been part of the DNA of 50s, 60s and 70s music, and linger still. The female backing singing group is not uncommon. ![]() Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive an email from tracking information. ![]() Orders are typically fulfilled and shipped within 3-4 business days.
